Our Nominated Charity
I am enormously grateful to L'Orchestre du Monde for selecting Marie Curie as the beneficiary charity for this evening’s concert.
We are the leading charity for people living with any terminal illness and their families. We offer people expert care, guidance and support, free of charge.
Our nurses work night and day, in people’s homes across the UK, providing hands-on care and vital emotional support. Our hospices offer specialist round-the-clock care. And we help people throughout their illness by giving practical information, support from trained volunteers and being there when someone wants to talk.
We understand that when someone is terminally ill, the time that they have left is very precious. So we do everything we can to help them to make the most of life. Often, that can involve sharing the music they love – and the memories it brings back.
Only three out of every 10 people with a terminal illness in the UK get all the care and support they need. We don’t think that’s good enough. The right help at the right time can give people living with a terminal illness, and their families, a better life. Your support tonight will help make that possible – and just £20 will fund an hour of Marie Curie Nursing.
I hope you have a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
