Our Nominated Charity

Kids Company provides practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children, reaching 36,000 and intensively supporting 18,000 children across London and Bristol, including the most deprived and at risk whose parents are unable to care for them due to their own practical and emotional challenges.

In 2007 the Charity was awarded the Liberty and Justice Human Rights Award and in 2010 was selected as a ‘Child Poverty Champion’ by the End Child Poverty project.

"As we listen to narratives of violation and survival, the most poignant upset expressed by the children is often about feeling alone and discarded. Money raised helps meet their basic needs. But the attention and care that has brought us together restores to them a sense of being valued.

"I am profoundly grateful to Janusz Piotrowicz de Jagiellon and L'Orchestre du Monde for including the children of Kids Company in this beautiful celebration of the human soul.

"Music expresses a form of spiritual geometry; the order of things, which resonates emotionally with us. A similar principle of order applies to social equilibrium. When a nation abandons its children to catastrophic maltreatment without mobilising appropriate reparation, the discord ricochets and unsettles. The genuine kindness of complete strangers is the example our politicians need to inspire them into prioritising the protection of vulnerable children."
